Kleotis was a servant of Tychon, the Nomarch of Thebes Nome, who lived during the reign of Cleopatra.

In 38 BCE, Kleotis was dispatched to locate a trireme belonging the Lotus, a smuggler who had leads on a relic that Tychon was pursuing. After locating the trireme docked in Swenett, Kleotis sent a papyrus to Tychon's villa Thebes to report his findings.
