Jeb Stuart (born 1956) is an American screenwriter, film director, and producer. He is best known for his work on Die Hard, and recently served as the writer and showrunner for the Netflix series Vikings: Valhalla, a continuation of the History Channel series Vikings.[1]

Biography

Early life and career

Born on 21 January 1956 in Little Rock, Arkansas to First Presbyterian Church minister father Dr. James Stuart, Jeb grew up in North Carolina and graduated from Ashbrook High School. He later attended University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with Bacherlor's and Master's degrees, he also received a Masters of Arts in Communications from Stanford University. He formerly taught in the Writing for Stage and Screen Program at Northwestern University.[1] His first film credit was serving as the screenplay writer for Die Hard.[2]

Assassin's Creed

On 14 June 2021, it was announced by Variety that Stuart had been enlisted to serve as writer and showrunner for the live-action Assassin's Creed television series, a Netflix Original series.[3] In February 2022, Stuart provided a disappointing update to The Playlist, noting that they hadn't even started the casting process. But gave a few other hints, one being that the show would probably be shot internationally, and the other that the show is bound to feature unbelievable action.[4] By 2 January 2023, he was no longer part of the project. He cited the moving of executives from London to Los Angeles as the reason, though wished Ubisoft all the best with the series.[5]
