The Hop Wo Society was a front for the Green Gang, a Chinese gang led by Du Yuesheng. Under the guise of a trade union, it operated out of the Great World in Shanghai, China in the early 20th century.
History
In April 1927, the Hop Wo Society sent a couple of French concession officers to kill a Templar associate and intercept Darius Gift. However, their plans were thwarted by the Black Cross Albert Bolden, who investigated the matter. Realizing the Black Cross' presence, the organization set a trap for Bolden at one of their offices. The trap worked,[1] though Bolden managed to retaliate and kill some gang members before being captured by Fiery Crow.[2]
