Havana is the capital and major port of the island country of Cuba in the Caribbean.
During the late 17th and early 18th century, Cuba was a colony of Spain. At the time of the Golden Age of Piracy, Havana was a common hangout for pirates, with many famous pirates having laid anchor in the city.[1] with tall buildings, narrow streets, and many magnificent landmarks, the city was known as the most "European" styled city in the Caribbean, and bore a resemblance to Venice in terms of verticality and emphasis on roof-running. The city has also been said to be resemble "Florence under the Caribbean sun."
