The Great World is an amusement center and palace located in Shanghai, China.
History
By 1927, the Great World served as a hideout for the Green Gang, a crime syndicate led by Du Yuesheng, which operated under the guise of the Hop Wo Society and engaged in a number of illicit activities, including opium trafficking.[1]
In April, the Black Cross Albert Bolden, investigating the Hop Wo Society, traveled to the Great World after interrogating the Master Templar Joffre about the trade union's address. He ziplined down from the Great World's tower into an office which was filled with crates of opium. Investigating further, he found Henri Melville's partner hiding. However, it was a trap as Green Gang henchmen came out of the shadows and fired their guns at Bolden.[1]
