John Sutter's men fleeing in the Great Basin Desert

The Great Basin Desert is a desert in the western United States that spans a large part of the state of Nevada, and extends into western Utah, eastern California, and Idaho.

In 1852, an American Assassin pursued John Sutter through the desert to avenge those he enslaved during the California Gold Rush.[1]
