Grand Cayman

Grand Cayman is the largest of the three Cayman Islands, located to the south of Cuba.

In the early 18th century, Grand Cayman was home to a small fishing village, located along the island's eastern coast. Like other such settlements, it proved to be a popular resting place for pirates, possessing a harbormaster's station, as well as a tavern called "The Randy Cayman". One such pirate, called Edward Kenway would visit the village to accept two assassination contracts via pigeon coop.

By 1716, Lucia Márquez, a Templar, had arrived in the fishing village, using the home of her right-hand man Vargas as headquarters. Tasked with eliminating the Taíno Assassin Opía Apito, who led the Cayman Islands' Assassin bureau, Lucia sent out several ships to scout the area, but was soon tracked down herself. She subsequently fled the settlement, but Vargas, who had stayed behind, was located by Opía and Edward shortly thereafter, allowing them to determine Lucia's destination.
