France is a prominent country situated in Western Europe, and shares a border with northern Italy, and northeastern Spain. During the Renaissance, it was ruled by King Louis XII from his capital in Paris. At the same time, apprentices from the Roman Assassins Guild were sent by Ezio Auditore da Firenze to Paris for several important assassination contracts. By the year 1500, Louis XII had aligned himself with Cesare Borgia and was aiding him in his attempts to unite Italy.[1]
Twenty years later, Giovanni Borgia and Maria Amiel travelled to Paris to obtain a fraction of the Book. They later travelled to Troyes, where the Templars were officially founded. There, Giovanni killed a Templar nicknamed "the Viper".[2]
