Fillan McCarthy was a thief who, just like his older sister, Gillian McCarthy, learned the ways of the streets in order to survive. Unlike his sister, Fillan went down another path in life, while his sister became a seductress.
As Gillian manipulated her way up the social ladder, Fillan broke ties with her, not wanting to be a burden to her because she had already given him so much. Now a young man and able to take care of himself, his only loyalties were to live each day as it came and to his estranged sister.
In 2012, his genetic memories were used as an Animi Avatar by Abstergo Industries, in the third stage of training for the recruits in their Animi Training Program, under the title of the Robber.
