Fast Travel Booths were a new means of travel found during the Renaissance. Ezio could travel to different regions in Italy, where in each region also has a list of districts where the Booth is able to transport you, at the cost of a small fee. Despite the database claiming that the people who are in charge of planning these trips often sell out their clients to brigands, no brigands except some guards sent by Rodrigo Borgia in one mission, are ever encountered.
