The Eleusis Telesterion was a large hall within the Sanctuary of Eleusis in the Sacred Plains of Demeter in Attika.
Within the Telesterion people participated in the Eleusinian Mysteries, initiating them into the cult dedicated to the Greek goddesses Demeter and Persephone.[1]
During the Peloponnesian War, the Telesterion was heavily guarded, though this didn't deter the Spartan misthios Kassandra in her attempts to enter the place.[2]
