Eikundarsund (English: Oak Strait), known as Egersund in modern times, is a town in Rogaland, Norway situated south of the city of Stavanger. It was once a ringfort settlement under the possession of the Wolf Clan during the 9th century.
In the 870s, the ringfort was visited by the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir, who was a member of the rival Raven Clan. There, Eivor eliminated Wolf Clan warriors and recovered numerous valuables, including a carbon ingot from one of the archers and the Yngling Seax, which once belonged to jarl Halfdan the Black.[1]
