Duncan Walpole was a member of the Assassin Order stationed in the Caribbean during the early 18th century.[1] He along with his crew sank the ship Edward Kenway was on. He is washed ashore next to Edward and orders him to build him a boat, when Edward refuses he runs away to be chased by Edward till he is killed. After his death, the pirate Edward Kenway donned his Assassin robes, after making several modifications. Edward assumes his identity after reading a letter saying a man was awaiting him in Havana who does not know the Duncan's face just the assassins robes he wears.[2]
