Derryulra was a large Irish fortification build along the River Erriff in the southern part of the region, east of the The Farmyard. It was protected by a sizeable military force.
In the 9th century, it was raided multiple times by the Vikings Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan, Vagn, and her longship crew.[1]
Behind the scenes
Derryulra, or Derryilra, is a very small hamlet along the Erriff river in the County Mayo.
