The Daybreak Boys were a gang active in New York City from between the late 1840s to 1859. In July 1863, during the build up towards the New York City draft riots, the Daybreak Boys' remaining members agreed to a temporary ceasing of hostilities with the Bowery Boys, the Roach Guards, and other smaller New York groups after they collectively agreed to work towards a bigger prize.[1]
