History
In 1718, the pirate Blackbeard laid siege to the city for a week, holding men hostage in exchange for medicine he needed to save the disease-afflicted pirates in Nassau. The authorities' stalling on his meeting his demand led to his ally Edward Kenway infiltrating Charles-Towne, and stealing their medical crates as well as the recipe for making more.[1]
In 1776, during the American Revolutionary War, the Colonial Assassins aided the Continental Army in preventing the Royal Navy from capturing the city. Three years later, they returned to assassinate the Templar associate Hugh Jackson at the Battle of Stono Ferry.[2]
