The Cayman Islands are a British overseas territory located in the western Caribbean Sea. The territory comprises three islands of Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman located south of Cuba and northwest of Jamaica. There is also a small island named Cayman Sound in the western bay of Grand Cayman.
The West Indies Brotherhood of Assassins had an Assassin bureau in the Cayman Islands called the "ghost" bureau, which had virtually no physical footprint to speak of. The leader was the Taíno Assassin Opía Apito.[1]
History
During his quest to collect the Templar keys in Golden Age of Piracy, British pirate Edward Kenway visited the Cayman Sound to warn Opía Apito about the Templar agent pursuing her in 1716. After a hunting contest, the two agreed to aid one another.[2]

As they arrived at the small fishing village on the eastern coast of Grand Cayman, the Templar Lucia Márquez used the home of her right-hand man Vargas as headquarters. Tasked with eliminating Opía Apito, who led the Cayman Islands' Assassin bureau, Lucia sent out several ships to scout the area,[3] but was soon tracked down herself. She subsequently fled the settlement, but Vargas, who had stayed behind, was located by Opía and Edward shortly thereafter, allowing them to determine Lucia's destination.[4]
During his other times in the Cayman Islands, Edward Kenway accepted two assassination contracts via pigeon coop in Grand Cayman. One of them was killing the Thomson brothers, the Templar smugglers in the Caribbean sea;[5] another was killing a smuggler chief who crossed the line by selling his stolen goods to the Templars and killing innocent men and women in the process.[6] Another time he accepted an assassination contract from New Bone, he tracked a man who killed many innocent civilians to the Cayman Sound and made him pay for what he did.[7]
