Captain Kidd's Sawtooth Cutlass was a powerful sword used in close-quarters combat, and was the personal weapon of the infamous William Kidd.
The cutlass was found in an isolated ruin on Cerros, which the Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton, otherwise known as Connor, explored during the American Revolution. He obtained the weapon after he navigated the ruins where it was kept.

Trivia
- A glitch may sometimes occur in which the sword will disappear. To re-equip it, Connor would need to visit the Davenport Homestead's armory or a general store, equip another weapon, and then select the cutlass again.
- Occasionally, some officers and Jäger could be seen to have this weapon equipped, as well as Haytham Kenway, sometimes even in combat.
- In a character trailer of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag for Edward Kenway, a similar sword can be seen wielded by an enemy that is shot by Edward.
