Captain Kidd's Sawtooth Cutlass was a powerful sword used in close-quarters combat, and was the personal weapon of the infamous Captain Kidd.^[1]

The cutlass was found in an isolated ruin on Cerros, which the Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton explored during the American Revolution. He obtained the weapon after he navigated the ruins where it was kept.^[2]

Trivia

Captain Kidd's Sawtooth Cutlass has unique killing animations, similar to the Dagger of Brutus in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and Vlad Tepes' Sword in Assassin's Creed: Revelations.^[2]
The statistics for this weapon are second only to the replica of Washington's battle sword. In this case, it is advised to use this weapon as soon as Connor acquires it, until he possesses Washington's battle sword.
A glitch may sometimes occur in which the sword will disappear. To re-equip it, Ratonhnhaké:ton will need to visit the Davenport Homestead, equip another weapon, and then select the cutlass again.
