Captain Kidd's Sawtooth Cutlass was a powerful sword used in close-quarters combat, and was the personal weapon of the infamous Captain Kidd.^[1]

The cutlass was found in an isolated ruin on Cerros, which the Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton explored during the American Revolution. He obtained the weapon after he navigated the ruins where it was kept.^[2]

Trivia

Captain Kidd's Sawtooth Cutlass has unique killing animations, similar to the Dagger of Brutus in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and Vlad Tepes' Sword in Assassin's Creed: Revelations.^[2]
The statistics for this weapon are second only to the replica of Washington's battle sword. In this case, it is advised to use this weapon as soon as Connor acquires it, until he possesses Washington's battle sword.

-You must be at least at sequence 6 in order to obtain the mission on the gamestop edition of ac3, to find the sword go to the harbor master, once on the map the mission should be south on some islands which contains the mayan temple where the sword is the prize for completing the mission. After the mission you will need to visit the general shop to equipped your new blade.
