The British Rite of the Templar Order was one of the autonomous factions comprising the Templar Order.
By the mid-18th century, under the leadership of Reginald Birch, it held a leading position among the various Templar Rites. Birch spearheaded the search for the Grand Temple, and tasked several of his men with finding. Eventually, this resulted in Haytham Kenway establishing the Colonial Rite of the Templar Order in 1754.
Upon discovering that Birch had been behind the murder of his father, Haytham killed Birch and his trusted assistant, John Harrison.
