Ilios the Bitter

Ilios the Bitter was a mercenary who operated in Greece during the Peloponnesian War.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Ilios, who was named after the god Helios, always praised the sun because of his power over the world and the energy the light gave him.  After many harvests had burned because of the sun, he decided to praise another deity.[1]

During the war, Ilios crossed paths with the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[2]
