The Palm Grove was a vast oil palm tree plantation in the southern part of the Wilderness around Baghdad. In the 860s, the Order of the Ancients member Al-Anqa ordered his guards to kill a group of Karkh merchants while they stopped at the grove on a return trip, as one merchant knew of his location. However, the Alamut Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq found the salesmen at their small encampment and offered to escort them into the city. While escorting them, Basim killed the assailants sent after the merchants and discovered Al-Anqa's identity as the tax collector Suhail.[1]
