Charles Babbage (26 December 1791 – 18 October 1871) was an English mathematician, philosopher, inventor and mechanical engineer.
He is best known for inventing a calculating engine that is considered the first mechanical computer.[1]
In 1868, David O'Donnell, a member of Blighters, mentioned Charles. He was arrested by one of the Frye Twins for stealing the organ pipes, and he quibbled that what he did would make Charles Babbage proud.[2]
