All the Nestors so far encountered appear to be men well into the eve of their life, as if the two created for Odyssey were based on King Nestor in more regards than just name. His epithet was Γερήνιος (Gerḗnios), and though it was derived from his home town of Gerenia, it's close to the Greek word γέρων (gérōn), meaning 'old'.
