Abuna Yemata, also called Abba Yem'ata,[1] and later venerated as Saint Abuna,[2] was a sixth-century monk. One of the Nine Saints who came from the Byzantine Empire to the Aksumite Kingdom to spread Christianity, Yemata had an impenetrable church built in the kingdom.[2]
