"For this duel of flyting, intent is reversed. All rudeness is flatt'ry, a blessing... a curse. So if you seek to harm me, then simply be kind."
―Augusta to Eivor, 870s.[src]-[m]
Augusta

Augusta, also known as Augusta the Cheerful, was an Anglo-Saxon flyter who lived in Lunden, England during the 9th century.

During the 870s, Augusta encountered the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir and challenged her to a reversed flyting challenge, trading compliments instead of rude remarks, which Eivor won.[1]
