In Assassin's Creed II, the Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze is able to obtain four outfits. These outfits are simply capes with different colorations and, in most case, a different emblem representing a city or family during the Renaissance. It is also possible to obtain two bonus outfits; the first, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad's robes, can be unlocked for 30U from Uplay.
A second black set can be used after purchasing the Assassin's Creed II 3D mobile game, exclusive to the Verizon App Store (not the better-known Assassin's Creed II mobile game, which is available for multiple carriers) wherein the clothes become available at tailors after entering a code in the game's main menu.
Capes
Plain cape

Description: The Plain cape is purely cosmetic, and does not affect Ezio in any way. While wearing it, guards will react to him normally and his notoriety will not be affected.
Color: Brown with crimson interior.
Obtained by: Retrieving Giovanni Auditore da Firenze's Assassin outfit in the memory Family Heirloom.
Medici cape

Description: While wearing the Medici cape in Florence or Tuscany, Ezio's notoriety will remain at zero. However, the guards will still react to criminal behavior.
Color: Red with a strip of yellow, a much slimmer line of red at the bottom, and black on the interior. The symbol of the Medici family is also emblazoned at the midpoint of the cape.
Obtained by: Ezio speaking to Lorenzo de' Medici at the beginning of Sequence 6.
Venetian cape

Description: While wearing the Venetian cape in Romagna or Venice, Ezio's notoriety will remain at zero. However, the guards will still react to criminal behavior.
Color: Blue, with the addition of a black strip on the bottom, and a gold interior. The symbol of the city of Venice is placed at the midpoint of the cape.
Obtained by: Ezio attending his initiation into the Assassin Order at the end of Sequence 11.
Auditore cape

Description: While wearing this cape outside of Monteriggioni, Ezio is automatically notorious, with no way to reduce it. When he removes the cape, his notoriety returns to its previous level.
Color: Black, with crimson on the interior, and the Auditore family symbol at the midpoint of the cape.
Obtained by: Collecting and depositing all 100 feathers scattered throughout Renaissance Italy.
Note: The achievement Show Your Colors can be earned through Ezio wearing the Auditore cape in every city (with the exception of Rome), and in the Mountains region.
General appearance
Altaïr's robes

Description: Accesses Altaïr's skin from the Animus databases, though it will not affect Ezio's current equipment, armor settings or the abilities of the cape he was previously wearing. The armor actually loads the model of Altaïr, rather than just his clothing, as is visible from color of his eyes, which are lighter than Ezio's, as well as his amputated ring finger. Also, Ezio is silent when taunting enemies while wearing the robes, though in certain cutscenes, Ezio's armor replaces the outfit.
Color: Altaïr's robes from Assassin's Creed.
Obtained by: Claiming the Ubisoft Uplay award (30 points) on Uplay Win.
Bonus skin

Description: N/A
Color: Black with red detailing; sleeves remain white unless Altaïr's armor is equipped.
Obtained by: Entering a code obtained after buying the Assassin's Creed II 3D mobile game from the Verizon App Store, or it is also included in Game of the Year edition, Digital Deluxe Edition of Assassin's Creed II and in the Assassin's Creed: Ezio Trilogy.
Temporary outfits
Carnevale outfit

Worn only during Sequence 9. There are two masks with this outfit, a golden mask and a normal mask. It also has a unique black cape with gold colored designs.
Borgia Guard armor

Worn only in the memories Play Along and All Things Come To He Who Waits.
Florentine Noble attire

Worn only in the memories Boys Will Be Boys, You Should See the Other Guy, Sibling Rivalry, Nightcap, Paperboy, Petruccio's Secret, Beat a Cheat, Friend of the Family, Special Delivery and Jailbird.
Trivia
- Altaïr's robes use the same character model seen during Desmond's hallucination in the Hideout, evident by the amputated finger, single visible Hidden Blade, despite the dual blades being usable, and different eye color.
- While wearing Altaïr's robes, if Ezio runs out of throwing knives, the holders are still full of them.
- If Altaïr's robes are worn when acquiring the Hidden Blade, Ezio's robes will replace them, but will switch back once Ezio tests the weapon.
- When Ezio receives the brand on his ring finger while wearing Altaïr's robes, a glitch may occur, since the model does not possess the finger.
- The Medici cape can be found in Monteriggioni's church by Desmond in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. It is one of the artifacts present in the town.
- Ezio is awarded the Auditore cape for fully renovating Rome in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. Unlike in Assassin's Creed II, the cape allows Ezio to remain incognito, functioning the same as the Borgia cape.
- The Auditore cape is also worn by Mario Auditore throughout Assassin's Creed II.
- The cape worn during the Carnevale bears markings similar to the Assassin insignia.
- The Bonus skin is currently the only outfit in the entire series that has not been released later as downloadable content.
