Assassin's Creed III downloadable content refers to content released separately from Assassin's Creed III and implemented into the game at a later date.
A Season Pass is also available for the game, which granted access to The Hidden Secrets Pack a week early. Accompanying this, at $29.99, the pass is 25% cheaper than buying all downloadable content packs separately. The season pass does not grant access to the Benedict Arnold DLC. Holders of the season pass did get a discount on the game Assassin's Creed: Liberation HD.
Altogether, the five expansions include a three-part episodic pack for the singleplayer, as well as new maps and Animi Avatars for the multiplayer.
