Altaïr: "Have you nothing better to do?"
Abbas: "I bring words from the master, he waits for you in the library. Best hurry, no doubts your eager to put your tongue to his boots."
Altaïr: "Another word and I'll put my blade to your throat."
—Altaïr and Abbas meet at Masyaf

Abbas (Arabic: عبّاس) is the second Assassin Altaïr meets after the failed mission at Solomon's Temple. He is known for calling the Assassins back up to the fortress when Al Mualim orders the retreat. Like Malik (before his change of attitude), he does not have a high regard for Altaïr.

Name

"Abbas" (عبّاس in Arabic) means "austere". Austere means "grim or severe in manner of appearance"[2], fitting Abbas perfectly.
