Altaïr: "Get out of the way, I have to see Al Mualim."
Abbas: "Go now, I bet you're eager to put your tongue to his boot."
Altaïr: "One more word and I'll put my blade to your throat."
—Altaïr and Abbas meet at Masyaf

Abbas (Arabic: عبّاس) is the second Assassin Altaïr meets after the failed mission at Solomon's Temple. He is known for calling the Assassins back up to the fortress when Al Mualim orders the retreat.

Unlike the other Assassins, he disrespects the higher-ranking Altaïr even before his demotion, taunting that he is "eager to put his tongue to Al Mualim's boot," to which Altair responds "One more word and I'll put my blade to your throat."

Name

"Abbas" (عبّاس in Arabic) means "austere"[1]. Austere means "grim or severe in manner of appearance"[2], fitting Abbas perfectly.
