William III (William Henry; 1650 – 1702) was sovereign Prince of Orange from birth, Stadtholder of Holland, Zeeland, Utrecht, Guelders and Overijssel in the Dutch Republic from the 1670s and King of England, Ireland and Scotland from 1689 until his death. As King of Scotland, he was known as William II. The city of Nassau in New Providence, originally named Charles-Towne, was named after him.[1]
During the Great Recoinage of 1696, King William tasked William Lowndes, the Secretary to the Treasury, to seek out the warden of the Royal Mint, Isaac Newton for help. Lowndes, in turn, tasked the Assassin Omar Khaled to do so.[2]
