I think the note is technically not necessary since you're using "circa", which already means "around", allowing for an error of at least +/- 1 year. But I edited the explanation anyways for conciseness. It could be trimmed further down if necessary.

A disciple (born c. 234 BCE) and the adopted child of Wei Yu took part in the defence of the Great Wall of China against the Xiongnu in 215 BCE.[1]
