Vinland, also known as Saint Brendan's land, is the area of coastal North America explored by Norse Vikings during the Middle Ages. Leif Ericson first landed there in around 1000 and is commonly accepted to be the first European to set foot on the continent.[1]
However, more than a century prior to Ericson's expedition, Vinland was visited by fellow Norsewoman Eivor, who explored the region and met the Iroquois people living in Karonhiakèn:iate' and around the forest of Kahrhakén:rat.[2]
