The Uí Néill were a collection of Irish royal dynasties who claim descent from Niall Noígíallach, a historical King of Tara who died in 405 CE. They were related to Connachta, another group of Irish dynasties that claimed to be the descendants of the legendary High King Conn Cétchathach.
