The Assassins outside Urbino

Urbino is a city in Italy.

History

In 1501, the Duchess of Urbino, Elisabetta Gonzaga planned to attend a jubilee in Rome, organized by the Borgia. However, the Assassins, under the guidance of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, found out about this and knew Cesare Borgia would take it as an insult if the Duchess were to appear at his party. Francesco Vecellio and his team devised and executed a plan to prevent the Duchess from attending the party and managed to keep her safe.[1]

In the same year, Cesare Borgia and his army attempted to conquer Urbino in an attempt to "unify all of Italy".[2]
