Uda Matsuyama Castle was a castle situated in Uda Matsuyama in Yamato, Japan.
History
In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke infiltrated the castle after being informed by one of Tsutsui Junkei's envoys that rogue Akiyama soldiers stole her invitation to the peace talks. Stealthily, they found the invitation within one of the residences and recovered it for Akiyama Ayako.[1]
While there, Naoe and Yasuke also discovered the conspirator within the Akiyama clan, assassinated him, and recovered a letter from The Messenger and a teppō Repeating Fate from his personal effects.[2] At some point, Yasuke returned and discovered a kamon crest belonging to the Akiyama clan within the tenshu[3] Then, he and Naoe eliminated four samurai daishos and acquired the Legendary Onna-musha Kosode from the castle's chest. They later climbed atop the tenshu and oversaw the province.[4]
Behind the scenes
Historically, the ruins of Uda Matsuyama Castle are now protected as a monument since 2006.[5]
