Trinity School located in Lower Manhattan in New York.
History
Trinity School was founded in 1709 and was known as a "Charity School" which means it was free to attend which made it possible for children of poor families to gain an education. This school was the only one that remained open during the time the British occupied New York.
After the Revolutionary War the government started to dive into free education but for secular schools rather than church affiliated ones. Trinity School is still around today and is now a private school and still accepting students and has been for around 300 years.[1]
