Thyra was a Viking archer in England during the 9th century.

Biography

Thyra lived in Ravensthorpe among members of the Raven Clan. Her archery skills were outstanding, resulting in her nickname "the Sharp Shooter".

During festivals in Ravensthorpe, Thyra often held an archery competition where festivalgoers could win festival tokens by shooting as many targets as possible during a set time.[1][2] After the shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir competed in her competition, she decided to participate in the brawling matches.[3]

During the Sigrblot Festival Thyra was in charge of designing the bonfire used for sacrificing offerings to the gods.[4]
