Thugs were civilians that carried throwing knives, and were one of the few types to not back down from a brawl if provoked.
They could be found in the major cities of Damascus, Acre, and Jerusalem, as well as in Masyaf during the High Middle Ages.
Characteristics
Thugs were more burly and tough-looking than most civilians, and were most notable for carrying throwing knives, which were able to pickpocketed. If they caught one while doing so, however, the thug - as well as any within the area - would proceed to fight the pickpocket.
Thugs would never flee from a bare-handed fight, instead choosing to fight until they collapsed. If their opponent drew a blade, however, they would run off immediately.
Trivia
- There is an achievement in Assassin's Creed for pickpocketing forty throwing knives successfully from a thug.
