A talisman is an object ascribed with religious or magical powers with the intended purpose of protection for the individual for whom they are made. They are often worn as portable objects in many ways, but can also be installed permanently in architecture.
During the 9th century, the Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq carried and worn a number of talisman during his time pursuing the Order of the Ancients in Baghdad, some of which he bought from merchants in the city.[1]
