Takigawa Kazumasu (滝川 一益; 1525 – 1586) was a Japanese samurai and daimyō of the Sengoku period, being a retainer of Oda Nobunaga and later Toyotomi Hideyoshi.[1] In 1578, Nobunaga's second son Oda Nobukatsu dispatched Kazumasu to build a castle just across the Iga border, intending to create a place they could use as a staging point for a future invasion. However, the warriors of Iga had been warned and destroyed the castle in November of that year, forcing a surprised Kazumasu and his forces to retreat. Though they attempted to retake the ground, they were once again repelled and retreated back to Ise, ceasing work on the castle.[2]
