The Svipul was a spear fashioned after the Valkyries.

During the Viking expansion into England, the long weapon was made available to the shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan through an Animus modification by Layla Hassan, an Assassin who relived her memories.

Behind the scenes

Svipul is a historically attested Valkyrie name in Norse mythology. It means "changeable" most likely in reference to a Valkyrie's relation to fate which is reflected in the weapon's Animus flavor text.
