Styrbjorn was king of Stavanger as well as the father of Sigurd Styrbjornson and the adoptive father of Eivor.
Biography
In the mid-9th century, Styrbjorn and Kjotve the Cruel were battling each other for control. Eivor and some clan members interfered in a raid of a village in the outskirts of Rogaland by Kjotve's men. Following the battle, the three vikings then returned to Stavanger with a captured slave, Gull, for which Styrbjorn chastised Eivor for dooming them all. [1]
