Statue of Zeus on the mountain

The Statue of Zeus was a statue dedicated to the god Zeus, located on the Mount Hymettos within the Heights of Thorikos region in Attika, Greece.

The statue served as an altar dedicated to the god in his aspect as Zeus Ombrios, the bringer of rain.[1]

During the Peloponnesian War the statue was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[1]
