The Statue of Zeus was a statue dedicated to the god Zeus, located on the Mount Hymettos in Attika, Greece.
In classical antiquity, there was a small shrine dedicated to the god in his aspect as Zeus Ombrios, the bringer of rain. By the 5th century BCE the shrine had largely eroded, leaving only the statue.[1]
During the Peloponnesian War the statue was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[1]
