In 2023, after going rogue and escaping from the Exitus, Shimazu Sei, Yuki, and Noa Kim were brought to Singapore by Nathan Zhang, where they holed up in a Zhawang Corporation safehouse in Chinatown. There, Sei set up a makeshift portable version of the Animus HR-8 to relieve the memories of her ancestor Shimazu Saito, in the hopes of locating a Piece of Eden that could free Noa from the control of the crescent amulet he had found.[2]
