Edward Kenway facing off against a great white shark

Sharks are a group of predatory fish, most of them carnivorous, found in all seas. They are typically seen as solitary hunters, searching the sea for food, though in reality this applies to just a few species.

During the Golden Age of Piracy, sharks were hunted by various individuals, including the pirate Edward Kenway.

Sharks were also found near shipwreck sites, deterring Edward's efforts of looting the treasures from the sunken ships. Since he had no choice but to abandon his gear while diving, Edward's options were severely limited while encountering the sharks, although he could stun them briefly if they got too close. Hiding inside wreckages or dense foliage was an effective way of evading them.[1]
