Saracen is a term used to address all who professed the religion of Islam. Much of the Holy Land falls under the domain of Saracens, a number of different tribes loyal to Salah al-Din, who are fighting fighting Crusaders around the city of Acre.The lands to the east and southeast are strongholds for Saracens, and they guard the mainly Muslim cities of Damascus and Jerusalem, each District within being the domain of a Regent or benefactor.

The Saracens have spread 100 Saracen flags accross the city of Damascus. Collecting them all will, in the Xbox 360 version of the game, grant the player an Achievement:
