San Danje was a small settlement located within the Louisiana Bayou. In 1765, the town was visited by the Assassin Aveline de Grandpré and her smuggler ally Élise Lafleur, who were tracking a man calling himself François Mackandal.

The two met with a witch doctor there, who provided Aveline with an antidote to protect her against the poisons used by Mackandal.
